Website Design: Cedar Door Austin

It had been a few years since we completed the first Cedar Door website redesign in 2007, and after a major interior and exterior building renovation last year, the time was right for a new site design to reflect the downtown Austin restaurant and bar’s new local, fresh & natural approach to dining. A primary focus of the new design was an added emphasis on their private party spaces, and we made it even easier for users to quickly learn more about how effortless it is to host a unique event there. The project also included a pair of custom jQuery (non-Flash based) image rotators, a new sidebar area to feature daily and weekly specials, and code updates to the website’s submittable forms to increase security and reduce spam email.

Poster Design: 2011 Drink Pink Ball

Poster and ad campaign for Opal Divine’s “Gatsby Affair” Drink Pink Ball and the BCRC. Project included digitally printed posters and coordinating ad campaign to benefit the Breast Cancer Research Centers of Texas. The BCRC offers a helpline to provide immediate support, weekly orientations to clarify diagnosis and treatment options and provide information about available resources, and physical recovery information.

Custom WordPress Theme: Austin Eats Food Tours

There’s no better way to explore the abundance of amazing Austin eateries than to take one of the Austin Eats food tours! We worked with owners Andy and Lindsey to create a fully-custom WordPress website that captured the playful, eclectic, and casual vibe that can be experienced on one of their 3-hour walking restaurant tours. This project included a custom jQuery image rotator, an easily editable sidebar area to allow quick additions to their tour lineup, and visual integration of their 3rd party reservation management system.

Custom WordPress Theme: Bellini’s Texas Grill

Based on a one-of-a-kind concept of Texas & Tuscan cuisine, extensive breakfast, lunch & dinner menus, and a deep commitment to animal rescue, the Bellini’s Texas Grill website captured the owners’ unique visual goals for this Cedar Park restaurant. This fully custom WordPress website is loaded with features, including a custom daily specials rotator, integrated upcoming events calendar, and a pair of submittable contact forms. The project also included interior and exterior signage design, logo design, menu designs, and business cards all created to match the look and feel of the website. Awesome illustrations of restaurant mascots Bellini and Fellini were created by Adrian Bogart of Punch Designs.

Our 6th year in a row creating a St. Patrick’s Day poster and ad campaign for Austin landmark Opal Divine’s, we created a #whyaustin theme. Taking recommendations from Opal’s owners and staff of iconic Austin things to do and places to eat and drink, this poster could double as a handy visitor’s tour guide or possibly prove invaluable for your next Austin pub crawl! Website Design: Cedar Door Original Mexican Martini Mix

When one of our long-established clients decided to create a new website to market their Original Mexican Martini Mix, of course we were excited (anyone who has enjoyed one of these delicious cocktails knows why!) While the Cedar Door has traditionally had a page of their website dedicated to their Mexican Martini Mix, the goal here was to create an online space purely devoted to this particular product.

One main objective of this project was to increase the Cedar Door’s organic search presence in Mexican Martini-related queries; now both websites take up quite a bit of valuable real estate space on search results pages for numerous high traffic keywords. Visually, the website incorporates the look and feel of the product label and creates a cohesive relationship between the physical product and the digital presentation, and everything is programmed with tight, clean XHTML/CSS code. Custom WordPress Theme: The Concierge Recommends

How do you take a tasteful and classic printed album showcase and transform it into digital format without losing all the charm and elegance of the printed form? This was the challenge Resort Information Inc. presented us with when we met in their Austin based office.

We took the look and feel of their restaurant recommendation books, which can be seen at concierge desks of fine hotels around the world, and created a companion WordPress theme design that includes a few special features. The WordPress website allows for easy updating by all of their administrators, populates various restaurant data and organizes it automatically, and features a Flash-based PDF viewer that allows the user to experience each city’s restaurant menus in a more traditional “book” format.

Custom WordPress Theme: Opal’s Divine Mary Mix

Building a brand like the Opal’s Divine Mary Mix requires a cohesive look that runs from product, to advertising and marketing, all the way through to the website. For this part of the project, we created a custom WordPress website that not only reflects the Opal Divine’s brand, it encourages participation by fans and users alike! We’re looking forward to more tall tales on the site’s blog from Michael Parker, founder of the Opal’s Divine Mary Mix.

Product Label Design: Opal’s Divine Mary Mix

After ten years of depending on Alyson Design for all of the graphic and web design requirements for their three Austin restaurants, Opal Divine’s called on us when it was time for their first product launch. We worked closely with Opal’s founders and their PR team in creating a Bloody Mary Mix label design that effectively reflected the Opal Divine’s brand that we worked so hard to build. Thus the Divine Mary Mix was born – just add Tito’s vodka!
