It had been a few years since we completed the first Cedar Door website redesign in 2007, and after a major interior and exterior building renovation last year, the time was right for a new site design to reflect the downtown Austin restaurant and bar’s new local, fresh & natural approach to dining. A primary focus of the new design was an added emphasis on their private party spaces, and we made it even easier for users to quickly learn more about how effortless it is to host a unique event there. The project also included a pair of custom jQuery (non-Flash based) image rotators, a new sidebar area to feature daily and weekly specials, and code updates to the website’s submittable forms to increase security and reduce spam email.

Website Design: Cedar Door Original Mexican Martini Mix

When one of our long-established clients decided to create a new website to market their Original Mexican Martini Mix, of course we were excited (anyone who has enjoyed one of these delicious cocktails knows why!) While the Cedar Door has traditionally had a page of their website dedicated to their Mexican Martini Mix, the goal here was to create an online space purely devoted to this particular product.

One main objective of this project was to increase the Cedar Door’s organic search presence in Mexican Martini-related queries; now both websites take up quite a bit of valuable real estate space on search results pages for numerous high traffic keywords. Visually, the website incorporates the look and feel of the product label and creates a cohesive relationship between the physical product and the digital presentation, and everything is programmed with tight, clean XHTML/CSS code. Print Design: Cedar Door T-Shirts

The Cedar Door wanted some fun, hip t-shirt designs to sell at the restaurant/bar downtown, as well as online at their website. We crafted these designs along with some special shirts to be sold during SXSW, the yearly Music festival in which they are involved. They chose these three designs out of several that we did for their screen-printed shirts.

Product Label Design: Cedar Door Mexican Martini Mix

This is one label in a suite of labels marketing the Cedar Door of Austin’s Mexican Martini and Margarita Mix. The Cedar Door invented the Mexican Martini over twenty years ago, and when it came time to bring their Original Mexican Martini Mix out from behind the bar and into stores, Alyson Design created vibrant, cohesive labels that help these bottles stand out on the shelf.

The Cedar Door, Austin Texas’ home of the Original Mexican Martini. Inspired (literally) by the labeling on their bottled Mexican martini mix, their new website and branding reflects just how fun it can be at the Cedar Door. This website includes an ecommerce area that allows visitors to purchase Cedar Door Original Mexican Martini Mix by the bottle as well as t-shirts and hats. The site launch also integrated our Organic SEO Starter Kit to maximize their position in organic search engine results.
