Custom WordPress Theme: Robyn Ludwick

Any chance we get to work with local musicians and artists reminds us of why we love doing what we do! Working with talented Austin (or Wimberley, depending on who’s askin’) singer/songwriter Robyn Ludwick was no exception.

Robyn asked us to use Jackson Browne’s 1974 album, Late for the Sky, as the inspiration for her new release’s cover art, so we worked with painter Tom Betts to create the visual theme for Out of These Blues, and carried the concept over to her custom WordPress theme design. Special features of this project include an events calendar to allow her to quickly and easily add tour dates, a Facebook like box and Twitter feed, as well as a featured news item area in the header section of each page.

Custom WordPress Theme: Motorboat Movies

Alyson Design worked with Motorboat’s Cameron Burr to create a portfolio website just as quirky as his wide variety of video, documentary and hand-drawn animation projects. Updating the content himself was a priority, so we integrated this design into the WordPress content management system, our hands-down favorite to work with. The project also included an emphasis on organic search, as the rest of the world should witness Cameron’s humorous, professional, and sometimes bizarre take on his subjects.

Website Design: Diane Tubb Art

The Diane Tubb Art website features a complete online portfolio of Diane’s watercolor and acrylic paintings, integrated PayPal shopping cart and Flash component. This design turned out to be a pretty accurate online representation of Diane’s artwork, talent and personality!

eCommerce Website Design: POP!Rock & PUP!Rock

POP!Rock & PUP!Rock fashion designer Michele Marcombe worked with alyson design to create a look that worked with her rock & roll inspired designs, but kept it simple for her first foray into the world of online eCommerce. Using a custom eCommerce framework, her admin side is just as simple and easy to navigate as the public side of the site. She can add, edit and delete products and keep track of orders with just a few clicks. Everything she needs to run her design studio and nothing she doesn’t need. Custom eCommerce rocks!

Website Design: Almost There Records

Almost There Records includes a pop up digital jukebox and an integrated PayPal shopping cart for t-shirt, iTunes and CD sales. We were on a super-small budget for this one, and we think the end result still really works. Ty and Lance from Almost There are working hard to keep Austin a great music city, and we’re glad to be a part.
