2: COLORS, COFFEE AND DESIGN
The second and most time consuming step in the website development
process is the design and architecture phase. During this
step the creative fires burn through many late nights and
many more cups of espresso in the hopes of converting brainstormed
ideas into a functional website design. This step focuses
mainly on color scheme, graphic design, and functionality
—meaning how easily the user will be able to move
around the website and how quickly they will be able to
reach their destination.
From the fruits of these late night design sessions, graphic
composites are created, either in the form of a printout,
or a digital file that can be viewed on screen, and presented
to the client.
Based on feedback from the client, the necessary changes
are made, and another composite produced. Once the client
and developer have settled on a basic functional architecture
and design for the site, the process is taken to the production
level. |
